The origin of Bikavér is now known, and no wine cellar in Szekszárd can do without this top wine. The best selected high-quality grapes give this wine its elegant body and taste. Produced in the true Bikavér tradition, including 12 months aging in wooden barrels. Bikavér means Bull blood in Hungarian.

My great-grandfather is on the label, he was one of the defining figures of the peasant-bourgeois world in Szekszárd. His father (my great-grandfather) was a judge of the city of Szekszárd (1867). He himself was a member of the city's representative body in the 1910s, a hostage of the communist dictatorship in 1919 and one of the founders of the nationally known and successful Szekszárd Cellar Cooperative, founded in 1929. And one of the “needles” of the Szekszárd vineyards from which we also inherited the Bull blood…… .János Eszterbauer
